Bio: Clara Fuhrman is in the final year of study for her Master’s Degree in violin performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, a student of the acclaimed violinist Ian Swensen. At SFCM, Clara has had the honor of serving as Concertmaster of the Conservatory Orchestra, in addition to performing in many solo and collaborative settings. A violin student since age five, Ms. Fuhrman recently graduated from University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, graduating with a Bachelor's of Music in violin performance, magna cum laude, with honors in the performance major. Clara has attended many music festivals across the country, including the Brevard Music Festival (2013), Montecito International Music Festival (2014), and the Aspen Music Festival (2015). Clara has also had the pleasure of playing for acclaimed violinists such as Paul Kantor (Rice), Naoko Tanaka (Juilliard), and Carolyn Huebl (Vanderbilt), to name a few. Clara has also received multiple awards in violin, including winner of both the Puget Sound Concerto/Aria Competition, and the Young Artist String category at the Washington State MTNA Competition.
